A mothers love is boundless: A letter from a mother to her daughter on the adoption of new children.
by "Interrupt"

My Dear Daughter,

My hope is that you're safely on the bus to school with your mates. I'm on the bus headed to work and as I'm driven along the freeway I'm contemplating how our lives will change in the near future with the new addition to our family.

Even so, I'm thinking of how our lives could change in an instant.

What I mean sweetheart, is that if something was to take me away from you, I'd want someone to take my place in loving you and teaching you that life is always worth living to its fullest. I'd want that person to treasure your dimpled smile and remind you that it is a doorway that could bring peace and happiness in sad or troubling times. Also, I pray they would encourage you to love hard with all your might and use your beautiful heart, your head and hands to heal others by being an open, altruistic and compassionate human being. These are the lessons I strive now to pass on to you and need to share with your new brothers.

To make it work, we have to be brave and share all we have; our love, our home, our listening ears and our kind thoughts and good deeds. This is what I want for you, the same as I've strived for in my own life.

I know we can't bring the boy's mommy back and we can never replace the life they had before she was taken from them but we must share ours and accept them as our family; they are to be your brothers and my sons.

I love you, my sweet daughter. You are more precious to me than all the diamonds in the Dark Continent, all the black gold of Arabia, all the air I will breathe in this lifetime.

Loving them will not diminish the love I have for you. My challenge, however, will be to love you all equally. Although failure is my deepest fear, hope is my most durable armor and love is my strongest weapon.

Loving you forever and a thousand years,

Your Mom
